What Amble is

A gastronomy and wine specialist, not a luxury generalist

We are a boutique tour operator and DMC. We do not sell everywhere. We go where we already know the people — and we build every journey around them.

Our Local Legends are the sommeliers, growers, chefs, mezcaleros and artisans already inside the working world of each region. They host our guests personally, which is why the doors open: private cellars with the winemaker, estate tables that take no bookings, workshops with the maker’s own hands on the wheel. That is the product. It is not on anyone else’s shelf, and your client cannot assemble it themselves online.

We run scheduled small-group departures and fully private journeys, from a single day to three weeks, for one to twelve guests.

The terms, in full, before you ask

15%Commission on every booking

What it applies to
Every booking — scheduled departures and private journeys alike, at full price or with the early bird discount. Calculated on the Amble trip price.
When it is paid
After your client’s journey is complete. We raise it without being chased; you will not be waiting on an invoice cycle to find out where it is.
First booking bonus
An additional $500 on your first multi-day booking with us, for advisors at the agencies we are a preferred supplier to — Fora, Travel Edge and Montecito Village Travel. Paid alongside the commission on that trip.
Tiers and minimums
None. Book one trip and you earn the same rate as our most established advisor partners. There is no annual target to hit and nothing to renew.
Eligibility
An active IATA, ARC or ABTA number, and your name on the client’s intake form at the time of booking.
Payment schedule
A 50% deposit confirms the booking. The balance is due 180 days before departure on scheduled group departures, and 90 days before departure on private journeys.
Financial protection
Amble Journeys Ltd is a member of Protected Trust Services, member no. 5978. Every client payment is held in a trust account and financially protected until the trip is complete.
Support
One point of contact from first enquiry to your client’s return. We answer advisor enquiries within one working day.

Cancellation, amendment and name-change terms, and the travel insurance requirement, are set out in full in our Booking Conditions. A $500 trip design fee, applied in full to the trip cost, begins detailed planning on a private journey.

Why the doors open

Our Local Legends are the product

Access of this kind is not bought. It is extended, by people who have known us for years and who trust how our guests behave once they are through the door. That is the part a competitor cannot copy, and the part your client cannot replicate on their own.

Every journey is hosted personally by someone already working inside the region — not a guide reading a script, and never a group to keep pace with.

Where we operate

Five countries, and a budget guide for each

Private journey guide prices cover the Amble experience — the Local Legend host, private transport, tastings and a hosted meal. Accommodation is costed separately and tailored to the client.

Spain

Where Amble began

Catalonia and the Penedès and Priorat cellars, the Basque Country and San Sebastián, La Rioja and Ribera del Duero, and Madrid’s wine bars with tastings and a cookery class an hour out of the city.

Catalonia · Basque Country · Rioja & Ribera · Madrid

$1,000 – $1,500per person, per day

See the Spain page

France

Opened by the people who work it

Burgundy, where most domaines have no tasting room and access runs entirely on introductions; Champagne with the growers; Bordeaux; and Paris.

Burgundy · Champagne · Bordeaux · Paris

$1,000 – $2,000per person, per day

Italy

One region, known completely

Umbria only — a cheese and charcuterie house with its own aging cellar, a cooking class in a family home above Orvieto, a winery with an Etruscan cave on its grounds, maiolica in Deruta and cashmere in Bevagna.

Umbria

$1,500 – $2,000per person, per day

Mexico

Two cities, both known from the inside

Oaxaca — the family kitchens, the weavers and potters, the palenques where mezcal is actually made. Mexico City — the markets and street food with a chef, the tables worth flying for, the Xochimilco chinampas.

Oaxaca · Mexico City

$750 – $1,250per person, per day

Japan is available on request — talk to us about it. For scheduled small-group departures, from $9,750 per person double occupancy, see the current dates.

Qualifying the client

Who this is for, and who it is not

The ideal Amble guest has done the five-star circuit and found it interchangeable. They want to understand a place through the people who shape it.

  • Couples and small groups of friends, one to twelve travelling together
  • Serious about food and wine — they want the cellar and the kitchen, not the restaurant
  • Happy to trade a full itinerary for fewer places and more time in each
  • Comfortable at this level of spend, and clear that they are paying for access rather than thread count

Less likely to be a fit

  • First-time visitors who want the landmarks covered
  • Anyone who measures a trip by how much was fitted into it
  • Large groups, or families needing a children’s programme

Tell us honestly which of these your client is. We would far rather say no early than deliver something that was never going to suit them.

What your client comes home saying

“It gives you a stress free way of immersing in local culture in luxury. All you need to do is take your flight and the rest is taken care of.”
Tanya C · Penedès and Priorat

How we work together

From your enquiry to your client’s return

01

Send us the brief

Use the form below. The more you tell us about the client, the faster we can come back with the right recommendation — usually within one working day.

02

We design it together

A call, then an outline itinerary built around access and flow. On a private journey a $500 design fee, applied in full to the trip cost, begins detailed planning.

03

Refine and confirm

We revise until it is right. A 50% deposit confirms accommodation and experiences; the balance follows on the schedule above.

04

We look after your client

Hosted throughout, with us reachable for both of you. Your commission follows once they are home.

For the Amble experience, excluding accommodation and flights. It is the single most useful thing you can tell us.
