Private & Custom Travel | Burgundy, France

Bespoke journeys, crafted around you

Amble Private Travel in Burgundy is for travellers who want more than a beautiful hotel and a few restaurant reservations. We design private, access-led journeys where wine, gastronomy, and genuine human connection sit at the centre  -  in one of the most tightly held wine regions in the world.

Burgundy isn’t a place you “book.” It’s a place you’re invited into. Through the relationships we’ve built with our Local Legends  -  sommeliers, winemakers, chefs, and artisans who shape Burgundy’s wine and food culture  -  we open doors that are typically closed to visitors and create days that feel intimate, personal, and full of flavour.

What Is Custom Travel with Amble?

Love the spirit of our hosted tours but want the dates, pace, and depth tailored entirely to you (or your clients)? That’s where our private Burgundy travel comes in.

We design one-of-a-kind Burgundy itineraries that might include:

  • By-invitation cellar visits and tastings with small producers  -  often not open to the public  -  arranged through trusted introductions and tailored to your wine knowledge and preferences

  • Craft-led wine experiences that go beyond the tasting room  -  like time with a master barrel maker, where you learn how wood and grain shape flavour, then taste wines aged in different barrels side-by-side

  • Private dining in the vines and at the table  -  from chef-led meals paired with producer wines, to intimate restaurant experiences where you’re hosted, not just served

  • Rare access moments built around allocation culture  -  including opportunities to taste wines that are difficult to find outside the region, guided by the people who know how Burgundy truly works

Every journey is built from scratch around your tastes, timing, budget, and the people you’re travelling with  -  from couples to collectors, families, and small private groups. For travel advisors, this means a fully bespoke Burgundy experience you can confidently present to your clients.

Why Travel Privately with Amble in Burgundy?

Amble is built on relationships. Burgundy, more than almost anywhere else, runs on trust  -  and over time we’ve cultivated a network of Local Legends who welcome our guests behind closed doors, into spaces and stories not typically open to visitors.

With Amble Private Travel in Burgundy, you can expect:

  • True insider access rather than staged “experiences”

  • Small circles and private hosting, so conversations flow as easily as the wine

  • Slow, thoughtful pacing that leaves room to savour what you’re experiencing

  • Meaningful connection, to the local tastemakers, the place, and the people you’re with

It’s luxury, but the kind where what’s on the plate and who’s across the table matter more than how shiny the lobby is.

How We Work?

At Amble, Burgundy journeys aren’t pulled from a shelf - they’re shaped, slowly and thoughtfully, around the people taking them. Whether you’re planning a milestone celebration, a collector’s escape, a friends’ gathering, or curating something special for a client, here’s how your Burgundy journey comes to life.

Step 1: Discover

It always starts with a conversation. We take time to understand when you’d like to travel, who’s joining you, and what matters most  -  from wine preferences and food style to pace, privacy, and how deep you want to go into Burgundy’s world.

For travel advisors, this can be a joint call with your client or a behind-the-scenes conversation, whatever best supports your process.

Step 2: Design

From there, we create a considered first outline of your Burgundy journey  -  a first taste of what’s possible. This might include suggested producers, sample days, and the kind of access-led moments Amble is known for, aligned with your interests, style, and budget.

Step 3: Refine and Confirm

Once we’re aligned, we collect a $500 planning fee (which is applied to the final trip cost) and begin refining the details. This is where the journey truly becomes yours: adjusting the rhythm, layering in meaningful moments, swapping experiences, and fine-tuning until everything feels just right.

When the itinerary is confirmed, a 50% deposit secures arrangements with our trusted local partners and hosts.

Step 4: Travel

Final payment is due 120 days before departure. From there, we take care of everything. You’ll receive a beautifully organised itinerary and clear, on-the-ground information so you can travel with confidence. During the trip, our team and local partners remain on hand for support, adjustments, and peace of mind, so the experience feels effortless, immersive and completely stress-free.
