Catalonia Wine & Culture Experience

Sample 3-Day Catalonia Wine & Culture Experience
Private, curated, and guided by local sommelier.

Day 1 – Craft & Clay: Amphora and Green Star Dining

Begin your journey with a relaxed breakfast at your boutique accommodation in the heart of Penedès. Over coffee and local pastries, your sommelier will introduce the region’s wines and outline the day’s experiences.

  • Morning: Visit to a local amphora maker’s workshop. Engage in a hands-on clay pot class, crafting your own piece while learning about the traditional methods of amphora-making. This experience is complemented by a unique wine tasting, highlighting how clay amphoras influence wine profiles.

  • Lunch: Seasonal Catalan meal. Hosted by some of our local legends, you will have the opportunity to savor a lunch featuring locally sourced ingredients, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of the region while overlooking the local vineyards.

  • Afternoon: Leisure time. Enjoy a few hours at your own pace—relax by the pool, explore the countryside, or indulge in a siesta.

  • Evening: Dinner at a Michelin Green Star restaurant. Dine at a renowned establishment celebrated for its commitment to sustainability and zero-kilometer ingredients. Experience a meal that embodies Catalonia’s culinary artistry.

Day 2 – Sea, Soil & Storytelling: Malvasia, Fisherman & Human Towers.

We’ll start the day with a relaxed breakfast, before heading toward the coast to uncover the deep ties between Sitges’ fishing community, its historic wine heritage, and its vibrant local traditions.

  • Morning: Private tour of the Cellar del Hospital. Walk through the coastal vineyards of the Hospital de Sitges, where the nearly lost local grape variety, Malvasia de Sitges, is lovingly cultivated. Learn about its remarkable history—from monastery medicine to Slow Food treasure—before heading into the historic cellar for a private tasting of rare and expressive wines.

  • Lunch: A true sea-to-table experience. Join Sitges’ local fishermen, where they’ll prepare a traditional lunch using the morning’s catch, paired thoughtfully with local wines—including the Malvasia you just tasted.

  • Evening: Castellers – the human towers of Catalonia. Start off with a wine tasting paired with local specialties hosted by the craftman that produce them. Then we will head off to witness one of the region’s most awe-inspiring traditions: the castellers, or human tower builders. Whether watching a rehearsal or a live performance (depending on the calendar), you’ll get an insider’s look at this UNESCO-recognized tradition.

Day 3 – Legacy and Landscape:  A winemaker’s Table in the vines

This final day invites you to slow down and savor the rhythm of Catalan Life.  Begin with a leisurly breakfast featuring local breads, seasonal fruit, and fresh cheeses.

  • Morning: Optional sunrise yoga session.

  • Midday: Free time in Sitges. Explore the vibrant town of Sitges at your leisure—visit local galleries, relax on the beach, or enjoy tapas at a seaside café.

  • Late Afternoon: Wine tour of the Penedès region. Visit two distinguished wineries, including a historic estate with over two thousand years of viticulture. Experience a 4x4 excursion through ancient vineyards and enjoy private tastings throughout the estate.

  • Evening: Farewell dinner at a historic estate. Conclude your journey with a memorable dinner on the estate grounds of the winemaker, reflecting on the experiences and flavors of Catalonia.
